This hotel offers incredible value for money with its spacious rooms, comfortable tatami and futon beds, and a small dining table where you can enjoy fresh green tea. The warm hospitality of the family-owned establishment makes you feel right at home, and the staff, even with limited English, go out of their way to make sure you have a pleasant stay. The breathtaking views of the mountains from the rooms add to the overall charm, while the breakfasts served by the attentive and friendly waitstaff are an absolute delight.
All was perfect, no improvements needed.

The food was fantastic, both breakfast and dinner were highlights of our stay. We particularly enjoyed the option of a private onsen, it was an amazing way to relax after a day of sightseeing. The room was also quite comfortable with a good view of the surrounding hills. Location-wise, it was great as it was near some interesting cafes and restaurants.
The lack of Christmas decorations, there wasn't even a small tree or lights up in the lobby. Additionally, the spa facilities were in desperate need of an update and the massage chair being coin-operated was weird. The towels weren't provided in the spa area, which was inconvenient and meant we had to keep going back to the reception to get more. All in all, not quite the festive experience we were hoping for.

Nothing bad to say.

Enjoyed traditional Japanese breakfast and the private onsen. the staff was very friendly and accommodating, providing a discount voucher for a nearby attraction. the location had lovely mountain views and was close to a great cafe/restaurant.
The onsen views were not impressive, and there was only one chair in the seating area by the window. No dinner was available , and the fridge was remotely locked by reception.

There are a few nice options like a private Michelin restaurant to dine at in the vicinity. Although the hotel's meals are a bit pricey, the location is great for walking and there are numerous attractions to explore. the rooms themselves are spacious, beautifully decorated and have comfortable beds. the bathrooms and facilities are well-maintained, making for a pleasant stay. Breakfast is included and it is quite delicious, with a range of options on offer.
The hotel is a bit dated and could use some modernizing.
